More and more eCommerce companies are setting up in Luxembourg, including eBay, Real Networks, Skype, Ratuken, iTunes, Amazon, and more. Why is Luxembourg so attractive for these companies? What can be done to attract more such companies to Luxembourg, rather than to other EU countries?

Telecoms solutions for operators in the audiovisual sector: a subject rarely brought up in Luxembourg, though one which generated considerable interest on Thursday, 18 June at a P&TLuxembourg event organised by ITOne, the Luxembourg ICT Community.

Over the 2 days, the conference brought together over one hundred decision-makers and managers from leading companies in the television and telecommunications industry, such as BSkyB, BBC, ITV, TDF, SES, Universal, Telefonica, Eutelsat, NDS, Sling Media, Numéricable, Liberty Global/UPC, Nokia, etc. The aim of this seminar was for P&TLuxembourg to present its Teralink connectivity network, its data centres and its satellite uplink.

P&TLuxembourg took the initiative in initiating a workshop whose subject was: “Telecoms solutions for operators in the audiovisual sector”. The assembly was composed of 65 participants from different audiovisual sectors: TV Channels and Bouquet Providers, actors of electronic Program Guide, Content Producers, Managing and Broadcasting Content, Satellite operators, Web TV Players, Government and officials, Telecom Operators.

On 15 June 2010, for the third edition of its “Telecom & Hosting Solutions for TV Players III” workshop, P&TLuxembourg assembled some 85 European specialists from the media, broadcast and content sectors.
